on the back of the
enormous success as the
Official Provider of Cleaning Management
Services to the Sydney 2000 Olympic
Games, and the December 2000 year
round contract win of the most
recognisable world class event,The
Championships at Wimbledon, comes
another huge win for Cleanevent.
In the company of some of Australia's most
respected sports identities, Cleanevent was
awarded the 2000 Australian Sports
Export Award. The calibre of Award recipients
was amongst the country's elite, including Ian
|
Thorpe, Karrie Webb, Lois Appleby, Richard
Charlesworth, The Wallabies, and Aaron Baddeley.
Proudly accepting the award in Adelaide on
Monday 26th February, Cleanevent Chairman and
Founder Craig Lovett was overwhelmed, "I feel
honoured to receive this award, especially in the
company of such successful sporting identities.
Our company's success in Sydney with the Games
made us a very proud contributor here in
Australia. We won the contract for Wimbledon at
Christmas time and that made us a very proud
Australian company. We have just been advised
that we have been selected by the Department of
Foreign Affairs and Trade to be used as a case
study in the Minister's Trade Outcomes and
Objectives statement due to be released in April."
Mr Lovett further added, "It's such | an exciting
time for our company to be recognised for the
software developments, human resources and
operational initiatives we have exported to the
USA and the UK. We have worked really hard to
ensure our export services have returned solid
growth and they are driven first and foremost by
what we do here in Australia."
Cleanevent's focus still remains "hands on" for all
our clients needs and the philosophy of, "your
house is our house and we like our house clean"
has never been more apparent.

Major Events
Chris Brown (Tourism Task Force)

Major and mega events bring in hundreds of
millions, if not billions of dollars to Australia,
provide amazing exposure for the host city
and state as a tourist destination and
generate thousands of jobs for Australians.
Australia's ability to host events of this scale was
given a massive boost with the largest worldwide
event - Sydney 2000 Olympic Games - being
hailed as an unqualified success. Cleanevent was an
integral part of the Games' operational success.
And this is just the start. Our dance card is
filling quickly with organisers of many of the
world's mega and major events signing up for their
turn in Australia. This year we have the 2001
Goodwill Games, next year it's the 2002 Gay
Games, the Rugby World Cup in 2003 and the
Commonwealth Games in 2006.
Events tourism is already big business for |
Australia and still represents enormous potential.
In addition to ticket sales and pre and post-touring,
it's about highlighting our facilities,
developing infrastructure and generating jobs.
Events provide Australian businesses - as well as
the country - with enormous exposure.
Cleanevent, and other Australian suppliers, have
honed their skills on domestic events and are now
exporting them to the world. From catering and
cleaning, to architecture, finance, marketing and
organising, Australian firms are now in high
international events management demand.
Cleanevent's excellence in service delivery, its
recycling approach and commitment to staff
training is an invaluable event legacy, and an
outstanding example of an Australian business
which has captured the attention of organisers of
major and mega events around the world.
