The Tool Box
The term "The Tool Box" is now probably part of Cleanevent folklore, a term
that is used continually to explain the resource base of the company. That tool
box continues to grow, not only with people permanently deployed with the
Cleanevent group around the Globe, but also those that are on the "fringe" in
support roles of either the Board of Management, consultants, friends of
Cleanevent and our client base as referees. But what is in that box now?
Good question, along with the question, how do I gain access to those
resources?
The company has great depth and a solid knowledge of the happenings within
the numerous market sectors that we work in, whether that be motor racing,
horse racing, exhibitions, arenas, stadiums, golf or other recreational events. I ask
the question - How often do we share the necessary information that could
ensure a faultless delivery?
Growth offshore, particularly in the USA has been strong, and we have been
equal to it, but I cannot help but feel that if we were open and honest with
ourselves, we have not necessarily opened up and asked for help when it was
needed, or ensured that we have gained not just good information, but the best
information available because we had exhausted all avenues.
It is time for us all to "grow up together" and not be concerned about showing
our hands that we may not know something, but more so ask for help in the
development of our business, whether that development be for bid compilation,
re-tender, operations planning, IT education, etc.
Is the servicing of an arena in the UK any different than in the USA or Australia?
Answer: Not essentially, as the principle models are the same. So if bidding an
arena, or just having a solid look at the current styles of operational deployment,
why would we not call on "The Tool Box" and ask the relevant questions:
- How many staff do you use for a post clean?
- How do you service the venue year round?
- How did the AC/DC concert affect your venue in the UK?
It is time that we opened up to the truly excellent resources that are within the
company's reach. It is time to share all of the successes as well as the failures in
order to add strength to all of us.
The company worldwide is and will continue to invest in Technology to make
our business "Good, Better, Best" which gives everybody the necessary access to
the world of Cleanevent. Why not tell our world of our achievements and lessons
learned? Why would the venue cleaning manager working at an arena in Australia
at an AC/DC concert, that has an issue with post cleaning due to the
configuration of the confetti cannon, not email all of our arena venues and
comment on the problem and a possible solution?
Is football of all codes any different around the world in the eyes of the
cleaner?
Is motor racing in the true essence, any different apart from the size of the
crowd? Does the instance of servicing NASCAR across the USA give us a good
learning and teaching opportunity for stadium post cleaning techniques?
I challenge you to make a difference. Write a discussion paper, email the globe,
make a difference, ask a question, and look for "The Tool Box."
There is much to learn, and much time to gain knowledge. Challenge yourself
and ask "Is there a better way?"
The answer will surprise you!
