A new home
and a new image for
                    CLEANEVENT
Cleanevent's new location
After four years in Kensington and a lot of growth within the Cleanevent organisation, it was decided that a move was on the cards. Our tenancy agreement in Kensington was up and the building set for demolition – to make way for more of those tiny houses that surround the place already.

Why South Melbourne? Well various factors contributed to us eventually moving to Buckhurst Street, some of them being:
  1. We needed a property large enough to cater for our growing companies.
  2. We wanted a property with the right “look” and feel in order to convey Cleanevent’s success and future development.
  3. And importantly for the Victorian State Office, we wanted to make sure we were within easy access to our Melbourne client base.
After a long and tedious search we finally came across 95 Buckhurst Street. The building was previously inhabited by a computer company with around 125 staff. Needless to say pretty much all of the 22,000 square feet were filled with workstations, workstations and more workstations!

After a Saturday spent ripping up rotting carpet and ripping out millions of desks and partitions, it was time for the builders to move in.
The Victorian State Office, National Head Office and Cleanevent Corporate Office slowly emerged from the debris. It took around three months for the new look Cleanevent “home” to be ready and in November 2000 (a week after we arrived back from the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games), we packed up our goods and chattels and moved across town.

Settling into our new home took some time and patience and it has been a learning process for us all. However some three months on, Buckhurst Street now feels like home – one that always has its doors open to friends and family of the Cleanevent Team!
