GST Roadshow
In February, Cleanevent hosted a GST seminar for clients. Sessions were held in
Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. About half the client base was represented.
A taxation consulting firm, Gang of Four, provided the technical expertise. This
specialist house has much prior experience with the introduction and operation of goods
and services taxes. Their staff have worked in New Zealand, South Africa and Canada, as
well as UK and in the big 6 Australian accounting firms.
When Cleanevent started thinking about GST it appeared both complex and worrying. Would
Cleanevent the contractor cost our customers 10% more? Would in-house cleaning become
price advantaged?
Gang of Four worked us through the issues and how the system allowed for full recoupment
by businesses of GST paid.
Clients that attended commented that it was a pleasure to deal with consultants who tried
to make things easy rather than complex. They were appreciative of the contributions made
by Cleanevent to the Event and Venue Industries.
The seminars were seen as another example of the value-added that comes with the cleaning
and management expertise of Cleanevent.
