STATE OF THE NATION - VICTORIA
Well here we go! Nearly ready for the first Royal Melbourne Show of the new century. Planning has been underway for some time so its time to "Bring it On!"
Life has been pretty hectic around the camp just lately. Re-scoping current contracts and answering some new tenders. I must say my team has been under the pump with this and also to continually manage the current business. But nothing better to be under some positive pressure.
With some of our venue managers venturing off to the Olympics, it is pleasing from my view point that we have some very capable people getting an opportunity to step up to the plate and take on the roles. Good luck to those people and enjoy your time at the games.
The season is drawing to a close in regards to AFL and the grand final weekend is turning out to be a biggy. Scotch Oval, Punt Road and Yarra Park to name a few. But it all kicks off with the EFL and VFL grand finals at Waverley the last weekend in August. While we never did win any work at the now defunct AFL Park, it is ironic we will complete the duties for the VFL in the last ever game there.
We are pleased to announce that the Melbourne Park business has expanded. This has come about with the introduction of the Voda Phone Arena, Olympic Park and the Melbourne Entertainment Centre. This has turned out to be the hub of Melbournes Sport and Entertainment business.
As I have indicated the next six months are no doubt our busiest period here in Victoria and will be a lot of hard work. Do the best you can do, be as positive as you can be, youre not in this alone. Success is a habit and a journey.
Thanks.
